PROVINCIALS:

Congrats to U14 girls on their bronze medal win. Everyone had a part in that game and you truly played as a team. You 'little' girls have improved so much since the beginning of the season! I am so proud of how you played in the bronze game:)

Congrats to U16 girls for making it to quarter-finals in Tier 1 Provincials. You 'older' girls have so much skill...we'll meet next week to discuss clothing options for $ raised at canteens. Listen to announcements!

Congrats to Laura O'Neill & Emma Kennedy for being selected to the all-star team.

Summer Camps:

Seaside Volleyball Camp(July 5-9th). The Phys Ed office has brochures.

Beach:

Volleyball PEI has organized a beach volleyball tournament on May 29th at the Summerside Courts. Check out the Volleyball PEI website(http://www.volleyballpei.com/) for more info.

Volleyball PEI is planning to have youth beach league this summer in SUMMMERSIDE. More information should be posted on Volleyball PEI's website soon.

What: Final Volleyball PEI 2010 Provincial Team Tryouts

Where: Kensington Intermediate High School

Cost: $10.00 for all 2010 registered Volleyball PEI Members and $15.00 for non-members

Who: All Girls 15U & 17U and Boys 16U & 18U

When: 15U Girls = 9am-11am
17U Girls = 11:30am-1:30pm
16U & 18U Boys = 2-4pm

Teams will be selected and players notified of selection following this final tryout.

All Players must register for the tryout with Volleyball PEI by May 12,2010 at 4pm to allow coaches to prepare for sessions.

We play at 1, 4 & 8pm on Sat, April 24th at the University of Moncton.
Game times for Sunday depend on Saturday's results.

We are staying at the Holiday Inn on Mountain Road.

Please be at the gym(in canteen area at 12:30 - do not be late!)

Costs and room assignments will be announced later this week.

U16 -
Gray tourney on Saturday - We play at 9am...please be at the gym ready for warm-up at 8:45(do not be late). Our first games are at QUEEN CHARLOTTE - playoff games will be at GRAY.

$5.00 each.

We play at 9am, 10am & 12pm. Playoff begin at 1:15.

Schedule for Saturday's tourney at Bluefield has changed!

Players should now be at the gym at 10:30. We play Red Mud at 11:00ish.
Then sit out a game and then play West Prince(around 12:00).

After the 12 game playoffs start.

Tourney should be over around 4?

Remember to bring water(you will need it) & food(no canteen).

And $5.00 for tournament registration.

Practice tomorrow(Friday) 2:30-4:00.

We play Friday at 2pm and 7pm at the Tower Gym on St.Mary's Campus.

Girls should be at the gym at 1:30(should have eaten lunch beforehand).

Last possible game is on Saturday at 5:30pm.

Please bring - tights, knee pads, uniform, comfy clothes, high socks, healthy snacks.
Money for 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 suppers.

We'll figure out drives later in the week and room assignments.

U16 Halifax Tournament

I have not received a schedule for next weekend's tournament.

But the earliest game we could play is on Friday at 2pm. Last possible game is 5pm on Saturday. They have 4 courts....24 teams in the tourney. I will post info(location, schedule) when I get it:)

Schedule & Off Island Tournament Info

Girls received a tentative schedule for the next month....there will be a few more Island tournaments added. I will let you know when and locations.

I'd like to have the money and registration forms in by this Friday so I can send the money and information to Volleyball PEI.

U16 girls - I have booked rooms for Halifax...I booked a few extra for parents who are interested. I don't have any info about the tourney but am waiting for the coach to get back to me.

U14 girls - I have rooms booked for Moncton tourney. I booked a few extra rooms for parents interested in going. The tourney starts Saturday usually around noon and goes till Sunday late afternoon(depending on how we do). No schedule yet.

THANKS to all those who tried out. Everyone worked really hard...if you are still interested in Volleyball I suggest attending Volleyball camps in the Summer. Phys Ed Staff will have brochures in late Spring for camps held on PEI. Also, Volleyball PEI is possibly having a youth beach Volleyball league at Credit Union Place courts this coming Summer. Check out the Volleyball PEI website for more information in the next few months.
